I hope to never find out what I don't like about this vest other than the cost and the fact that it is kind of hard to remember that you are hooked to the bike. But it takes a lot more than just getting off the bike and trying to walk away to actually set it off. So it really isn't a problem. The Co2 canisters are like $37 including shipping online elsewhere for these, they take the 60cc size from Hit-Air.You hardly notice you are wearing the thing it is so light weight and I don't notice it blocking the wind and I wear a mesh jacket with armor always since I am 65 and don't bounce too well any more.I bought an XL since that is the size I wear in motorcycle jackets. It fits over the top of it and is adjustable on the lower strap only. I would say anyone over a large would want an XL if you ride with a jacket especially if you ride in winter with a heavier coat. This will go over it.Gives some peace of mind that you might survive a crash if it isn't too horrific and you get thrown. Worth $550. Plus with all the Covidiots who knows if your hospital even has a bed for you if you need one.

Just wanted to share my experience of having it inflate while getting of my bike. As it takes a decent amount of force to activate the vest to inflate I had found that if I forget to disconnect it before getting of my bike I feel a gentle tug and nothing happens. Meaning I would attempt to get off of my bike and feel the tug of the rip cord with out it activating. Yesterday I got off of my bike in a hurry and quickly and boom. It inflated. I was of course surprised and wondered what I looked like in front of a gas station with my vest inflated. So it was frustrating but I was also pleased that I finally got to verify that it actually works. Which was something I have been wanting to do. So it activated as expected. Took a few minutes to deflate. And now I wish that I already had a back up co2 cartridge. I do recommend this air vest.

Used it for the first time on ride from NorCal to Great Falls, Mt.Through hot and cold weather, forgot I was wearing it.Set up was easy, hope I never need it

I am 46 in chest 6 ft 220 lbs and first on top of my leather jacket. It can be adjusted for tighter fit. I haven't had to deploy it yet hopefully never will need to but I like the feeling of having improved chances at surviving an accident without injury.

Product shipped directly from Japan. Instructions are in Japanese. Warranty card is in Japanese. Easy enough to download an English manual. As for the warranty card, I'm at a loss.

Build quality is excellent, very reflective at night, easy to put on and take off. Doesn’t block any noticeable amount of airflow to my induction jacket. The co2 cylinder is a little bulky but is no problem. Once I have it on I don’t even notice I’m wearing it.

High quality, adjustable and comfortable! Comes with the leash (?) to attach (in my case) my saddle horn. I needed something to give me a soft landing and build my confidence back when riding after yet, another horse spooking fall. With much research and no guarantees of never be thrown again, this is an amazing safety addition along with my helmet. I know many riders of both horse and motorcyles wear these, and like those smart folks, i want safety first, fun second. Its pricey but worth every penny. High quality all the way around! *FYI~ I saw these sold on a horse product website for $300-$400 more because they added some knit polyester cover to make it look like a real vest so to speak.

Hello I just bought one, the question is: can I put it in my luggage the vest with the co2 cartridge installed and fly on an airplane ?

Just got it in the mail. It is pretty expensive but i don't really put a price on my safety. I hope and pray i will never have to use it. Quality seems superb. Vey solid material. Seems to be properly set up. Now i have to figure out where i want the coil wire installed on my motorcycle. Buy without regret.

I use the vest every single time I ride. It's a bit warm obviously when wearing it over a jacket but it is comfortable, easily connects to the bike and doesn't interfere with a jacket or helmet.

Just buy it. Anyone concerned about having a safer ride needs this. I'm 52 years old and I have been riding since age 7. I'm an ICU nurse as well. THE PLACE ALL BIKERS WANT TO AVOID!!

Very well designed, reflective material is very bright at night, during the day time it blends with my riding gear and doesn't stand out.I hope I never use it in an accident. Gives you peace of mind while riding. Good airflow on hot days.

Great product, I think it saved my life or perhaps kept me from getting paralyzed. Was wearing it at the track, racing my 1000cc 195HP Kawasaki Ninja. Cold weather, cold tire high sided. I flew up in the air at 80mph and landed upside down on my head, on the asphalt. Broken my neck, chipped some vertebrates on my back, cracked 3 ribs. Fortunately, the vest properly inflated and I believe it helped minimize some of the injuries and possibly helped to prevent my spinal cord from getting severed. Just make sure the CO2 gas canistered is armed (safety clip removed) and you have the arming cable snapped into the harness on the bike, otherwise it won't activate. First thing I did after getting out of the hospital 3 1/2 weeks later was to check to make sure the vest had inflated, because while recuperating in the hospital I couldn't remember if I had properly armed it. But yes, I did arm it. The EMT's cut it off my body, ruining the inflatable bladders. I wish they had just unsnapped it from my torso. Now, I have to go buy another one.

I got to test this vest on July 10, 2015 on a California interstate freeway at 65 mile per hour! I hit the pavement after a couch fell off a truck in front of me. I did pray before I left home so must give God the ultimate credit but sure glad he had me buy this vest!! Don't get on a horse or motorcycle without one!
